The collection consists of twelve letters written by governess Lillian Graves from October 1885 through February 1886 as Graves cared for the Woodward family children in post-Civil War Alabama. The collection is of one photographic album of 145 photographs documenting the construction of United States Nitrate Plant Number 2 and the people of Muscle Shoals, Alabama during 1918 and 1919.
